‘I will choose if we have a girl and Rex will choose if we have a boy. He said he wanted to call him Jack after his best friend in Canada. He was the one who persuaded him to follow up on finding his father after his mother died’.
‘If we have a girl I would love to name her after my mother, Shalma. I love my mother very much even though she wasn’t able to help me when I needed her to stand up to my father. Paul likes the name Stanley, after his father. I admit I really like the name Stanley too’, Seki said with a smile.
‘Oh Seki! That’s so lovely’, Penny was so pleased.
Rex joined us for his coffee break.
‘We are discussing names for the baby’, I informed him.
‘Well if I have a son I’d like to call him Harry’, there was an awkward pause as everyone turned to look at me.
‘Darling what happened to Jack’? I asked.
‘Oh him! I’ve changed my mind’, he looked confused as we went into a fit of giggles. ‘Who do you know named Harry’? I asked with mock ridicule.
‘Prince Harry of course’, we were in fits now, ‘what are you all laughing about’? he asked indignantly.
‘You are becoming more English than myself’, Penny laughed nearly falling off her chair.
I had been feeling exhausted the last few weeks. I was in my final couple of months now and I had taken to having a nap in the afternoon and sleeping until Rex begins to prepare the dinner. He had taken on all household jobs as well as checking in on the site daily and keeping an eye on the progress of the barn. We had just finished painting the nursery and planned on going into town to look at some furniture.
