As I look across at Rex snoozing in the chair I smile, all that worrying about age I now see a guy with slightly graying hair and a few extra inches on his taut body. Still so handsome but he has caught up with me appearance wise.
Jenny is still around, she found a lovely young man and they are engaged to be married. She held down a very responsible job for the last few years and seemed to finally be content. She approached Sherry for a couple of shifts to help save towards the wedding and after some soul searching she agreed. Now both Paul and Sherry have more time to devote to Penny and Shalma. They planned to go to Bahrain for a couple of months in the summer to visit Shalma’s grandmother.
They say your future is mapped out from birth. I’m beginning to believe that it may be true. That the good, the bad, the tragedies are all there for a reason. In my case I found Rex. I thought Tony was meant for me, but he was not free to love me. I’ll never know if he would have been mine after Meg died or if he would have told me the whole story. I know now that we were never suited and that my soul mate was just around the corner.
