Penny continued reminiscing aloud, ‘I remember at the time thinking that although I myself could understand the situation I couldn’t get past the torment those kids must have gone through. It must have been terrible for him not knowing if he had a son or daughter or even if he had a child at all? It’s heart breaking Amber’ she paused, turned and looking me straight in the eye declared ‘we will do everything to help this young man’.
Penny had cleared out her attic ready for Rex, she had been using it for storage but stated it was more private that the other rooms and as she didn’t know how long he was planning to stay it made more sense to give him this space. She wanted to do her best to make her old friend’s great grandson welcome.
