‘Hi guys’! Penny smiled I need a break, ‘my feet are aching’.
At his tea break Rex told Penny his news from Mr. Harris. He asked me to keep my father’s name secret until he locates him because of some red tape about my inheritance.
‘Well at least you have gotten a little closer – maybe your fathers’ friend can shed some light on the last ten years an address or phone number! That is the next step – I have to make arrangement to meet Henry in London. I’ll try first thing tomorrow’. Rex drank his coffee and went out to relieve Jenny for her tea break. Penny followed to clear some tables.
I sketched a group of ducklings for my second painting for the Gallery-the first been a picture of old Mrs. Cannon sitting by the fire in her quaint cottage. Mrs. Cannon was thrilled to be asked to pose as my subject –she has such a frail and pretty face she looked like a doll sitting in the big tapestry wing chair in her frilly night dress holding a cup of whatever you fancy –in this case a hot chocolate. I have yet to seek out a subject for my third painting.
‘I can manage here – if you would like to have an early night Jenny’, Penny told her young staff member – ‘Rex you can take the rest of the evening off. I would appreciate you coming back to help me lock up’.
‘Thanks Penny’!
‘I’ll come back later’, Rex replied humbly.
Lying on his bed listening to his favourite music-He hoped Jenny was not trying to get him to change his mind about been a couple. She seemed to be playing it cool and acting a little more grown up. Giving me space but staying very friendly. Maybe I
