Tell us about your involvement with headphone company JLab Audio?
I met the JLab team at one of my tour stops in Orange County, CA in 2015. They were a sponsor for the show and ended up offering me the chance to demo their Omni DJ Headphones during my show. I instantly fell in love with the comfort and sound of the headphones. Afterwards we had a chance to chat about working together, after meeting the rest of team I was sold. I've been a member of Team JLab now for almost two years and their support has been incredible. They're making huge innovations in the headphone market especially with the release of their new DJ headphone "The Flex". I can't thank the whole team at JLab enough for all their support.
With regards to your production, are there any pieces of equipment or VST’s that you rely on heavily?
Production wise some of my favorite VST’s are U-he’s Diva, Omnisphere, Sylenth and Massive. I’ve also really enjoyed the Waves Plugins including their One Knob Series and their C6 Multiband Compressor. I’ve also enjoyed using Sonic Academy’s new Kick 2 for my kicks.
Tell us a bit about who you are signed to and forthcoming releases that we can look out for.
I've currently got releases out with Krafted Records, Nueva Recordings and coming out in January I'll have a release on Aly & Fila's label Future Sound of Egypt. In January, I'll also be announcing
my very own record label. I'm so excited to release a ton of new music in 2017!
Where in the world is your favorite place to play?
I’ve been blessed to play some really amazing venues and clubs over the last few years but there’s nothing like the hometown support of playing in Texas. The love and support from fellow Texans at some of my shows this year has been incredible whether it’s playing shows at Stereo Live in Dallas or at Festivals such as our Night Nation Tour at the Texas Rangers Stadium or Something Wicked and Something Wonderful Music Festival!
Have your family been supportive of your choice in career?
My family has been incredibly supportive in my choice of pursuing music as a career. Both of my parents and all of my siblings are successful entrepreneurs, so our family foundation has always been to follow your dreams and pursue the things you truly believe in. I’m truly blessed to have all of their support!
What do you think of Donald Trump becoming your President?
Ha-ha that’s an interesting question. Well I think every person deserves a chance, so we shall see.
Favorite track of 2016?
There is so much good music out this year it’s hard to name a favorite track. Some of the artists I’ve really enjoyed their productions this year are Galantis,
ZHU, MK, The Magician, Dom Dolla, Porter Robinson & Madeon.
Who have been your influences as far as DJ’s and Producers?
My early influences were Tiesto, Kaskade, Above & Beyond and Gabriel & Dresden.
Can we expect to see you in Europe in 2017?
You sure can! I’m yet to play in Europe so I can’t wait to play there. I’ve got some tour dates already planned for Europe in 2017 that I can’t wait to announce in a few months.
What’s your goal by this time next year?
I’m very much a goal driven person, so I think my biggest goal is to continue pursuing my passion for music and sharing it with the world! By this time next year, I plan to be touring even more than I did in 2016 and to release a ton of new music including some vocal tracks for radio. Special thanks to Zone Magazine for having me!
