SAVING AND RECYCLING WATER
Evinrude has saved over 22 million gallons (83 million liters) of water and hundreds of thousands of dollars annually in water, sewage and associated wastewater treatment fees.
Energy recovery systems were installed to use excess energy from our facility’s engine water test system to heat occupied space and other processes throughout the facility. Recycled filter carbon is used through an exchange service which minimizes waste. A water source heat pump was installed to leverage the excess energy produced from test engines. Heat exchangers were installed to transfer energy from process water to an outdoor boat launch test area to prevent freezing in winter months.
Closed-loop water filtration system used in the Evinrude outboard endurance test center.
