Evinrude was the first and only outboard engine ever to receive the prestigious EPA Clean Air Excellence Award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The Evinrude E-TEC outboard engine achieved over a 90% reduction in exhaust emissions compared to conventional older- technology outboards. Our carbon monoxide emissions at idle are typically lower by a factor of 50 to 100 times relative to competitive outboard engines. The key to these achievements centers on our proprietary direct fuel injection system which allows precise control of the fuel delivery to maximize power and torque while significantly minimizing emissions and fuel consumption.
