May 1st. That’s the goal and the hope for many re- gions throughout the United States, to start reope- ning the economy now that the number of coro- navirus cases seem to be slowing down in certain areas of the country.
In California, local governments are beginning to map out how they could ease some of the coro- navirus stay-at-home orders, according to the Los Angeles Times, with officials saying the process could gradually begin in May and continue in targe- ted ways through the summer and fall.
Los Angeles County Department of Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer spoke of certain strategies being in place “as we begin to lift our health officer order, Safer at Home, later on in the month of May, in most likelihood.”
