TOURIST AND PILGRIM CENTRES

Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana, is an exciting holiday destination. A blend of
heritage and modernity, it has a wide ranging choices for sightseeing and facilities for
leisure & pleasure: parks, lakes, temples, museums, heritage monuments, entertainment
                and shopping centers.

Charminar: Built when the city was born, the
Charminar’s four minarets rise to a height of 180
feet with circular staircases within. The edifice is an
architectural wonder and a monument worth
seeing. Charminar is illuminated in the evenings.

Golconda: Golconda has a history full of
Machiavellian trappings and intrigue. The founder
of the QutubShahi dynasty Sultan Quli was
assassinated at the behest of his son. The last of
the QutubShahis, Abul Hassan, was betrayed by
his lieutenants, which resulted in the fall of the
impregnable fort into the hands of the moghuls
                under Aurangzeb in 1687.

Srisailam: The Nallamala range of hills and forests
extend all the way into Kurnool district of Andhra
Pradesh. Amidst the thick forests lies one of the
most famous temples in south India, the
                Bhramaramba-MallikarjunaSwamy Jyothirlinga
temple at Srisailam, is 235 Km from Hyderabad.

Saraswati Temple, Basar: The famous Gyana
Saraswati Temple at Basar is 30 Kms from
Nizamabad and falls in Adilabad District of
Telangana. Basar is well connected by Railway
                from Nizamabad.

Pillalamarri: With its green foliage, Pillalamarri
looks almost like a hillock from a distance. This
Banyan tree is said to be hundreds of years old and
is spread over an area of about three acres. It
looks like a large green umbrella under which about
a thousand people can comfortably take shelter.
Pillalamarri is located about 9 Km from the town of
                Mahabubnagar.
