Conclusion
In view of the value of innovations in the rapidly evolving fields of virtual reality and procuring patent protection for such innovations should be a priority for companies operating in these spaces. Recent case law has arguably made obtaining patent protection within the virtual reality space a bit more complicated. As a result, it is important for companies to work closely with counsel who understands the impact of these cases, and can provide proactive advice on enhancing obtained protection under the new paradigm.
