As a writable idea it is only a simple sketch of a song, with no rhyme or proper lyric lines. The focus in drafting the writable idea is to get the idea flow for the plot right before going on to draft the lyric, which I will do here.
Example of a places lyric
So, developing the above writable idea into a lyric, here's a draft that simply fills in the lyric for each section.
Lyric: How Many Times
Verse 1
I'm driving past the school where we first met Windows filled with paper art, yellows, blues and reds The corner of the playground
Where we stole our very first kiss
There's a brand new classroom, toys and deck
But, I'm thinking coming here was a mistake
I can almost see my childhood sweetheart's face
Chorus
How many times do I need to say goodbye How many times do I need to feel the pain A thousand miles from me
