Local research team connects partnerr to commuunitityy memberrs
A community partner said he was having a challenging time speaking with Aboriginal communitymembersforaresearchproject.Theprojectinvolvedlookingathousingand homelessness needs in the North Bay community, and the fifindings would contribute to the provinciallymandated10-YearHousingStrategy.
Within weeks of linking up and partnering with U-ACT, we had dozens of participants and could notkeepupwiththedemandofthosewhowantedtosharetheirstories!
Our partnership was ethically grounded in Indigenous research (see USAI Research Framework, Research Spaces, p. 13) and supported the participation of an otherwise hard-to-reach Aboriginal population, in the development of the Housing Strategy.
