78 ALL IOWA SHOP HOP SOUTH WEST REGION
BLOCK ASSEMBLY:
1. Fussy cut the Regional Block to 6-1/2” square.
2. Cut the 5” squares of the four Iowa Swirl fabrics in half diagonally. Mark the center of the cut edge on all four.
3. Mark the center of all four sides of the Regional Block.
4. Line up the center on the half-square triangle and the center on the regional block. Sew the triangle to the regional block using a 1/4” seam allowance.
6. Sew the two remaining triangles to the two remaining opposite sides. Press the seams.
7. Trim the finished block to 8-1/2” square. Make sure there is 1/4” between the points of the regional block and the edge of the 8-1/2” block on all four sides.

Cut [1] — 4-1/2” 3 2-1/2” (A) All for background Cut [3] — 2-1/2” 3 2-1/2” (B)
Cut [3] — 1-1/2” 3 2-1/4” (C)
Cut [1] — 1-1/4” 3 2-1/2” (D)
5. Sew opposite sides of the regional block. Press the seams.
Cut [1] — 1” 3 2-1/2” (E)
