Chris Drury
Someone sent Chris Drury a load of shred-
ded dollars found in a dumpster. They
sat in a drawer for several years until the
pandemic in 2020 when he straightened
some of the shreds, ironed them, glued
them into strands and then wove them into
Shredded Dollar (Reading Between the
Lines), something like the size of a dollar
bill. Currency? The state of the dollar? For
Drury, it is appropriate that the work is
ambiguous and can mean different things
to different people.
