JohnLennonwasbornonOctober9,1940,inLiverpool,England.HemetPaulMcCartneyin1957andinvitedMcCartneytojoinhismusicgroup.They eventualyformedthemostsucesfulsongwritingpartnershipinmusicalhistory.LennonlefttheBeatlesin1969andlaterreleasedalbumswithhiswife,Yoko Ono,amongothers.

In1980,JohnLennonreturnedtothemusicworldwiththealbum DoubleFantasy,featuringthehitsingle"(JustLike)StartingOver."Tragicaly,justafew weeksafterthealbum'srelease,MarkDavidChapman,aderangedfan,shotLennonseveraltimesinfrontofhisapartmentcomplexinNewYorkCity. LennondiedatNewYorkCity'sRooseveltHospitalonDecember8,1980,attheageof40.
