ALLOY 304: The standard “18/8” stainless; it is the most versatile and most widely used stainless steel. For areas within 50 miles of the coast, Gemini recommends Alloy 316
ALLOY 316: 316 offers better overall corrosion resistant properties than 304, particularly higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments.
Cor-Ten® An environment resistant steel, created by alloying copper, chromium and nickel. The material forms its own continuing protective rust layer, when exposed to atmospheric elements. Essentially, the top layer corrodes, which then protects the steel beneath it – hence Cor-Ten cannot be painted or clear coated, as it will push off most surface surfactants over time. It is not recommended for mounting on any surface that could be stained, due to the bleeding of this rust layer.
POLISHING: Requires a minimum of .25” stroke and stud mounts. Restrictions may apply
on letters/logos over 24”. Optional clear polyurethane coat is an addtional 10% on top of polishing charge. 1.800.538.8377
