Ernest Delbert Del Carlo
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfa- ther was met by his maker and all family that passed before him at Heaven’s door on Monday, November 19, 2018. He was a warehouseman for United Grocers (Fleming Foods) in Fresno, CA for 32 years.
Ernie, the son of Italian immigrants, was born on April 14, 1935 in Sanger, CA and lived both there and in Del Rey, CA. He graduated Sanger High School and attended class- es at Reedley College. He married his sweetheart, Georgia Beverly Lehman, on November 3, 1956. This year marked their 62nd anniversary. He visited Georgia, who is in as- sisted living, every week until his death.
Ernie loved fishing, hunting, camping, traveling the United States in his and Georgia’s trailer, and spending time with his grandchildren. He dedicated his later life to working in his yard, garden and field; friends and strangers alike can attest to his delicious apricots or beautiful Lisianthus bouquets and vegetables once sold at Farmers Markets. Ernie was happiest on his tractor, with his loyal dog, cat, or occasional grandkid following him around the ranch.
He is survived by his children, Michelle Del Carlo-Estrada and husband, Jaime, Louis Del Carlo and wife, Nancy, and Laurette Gerdts; siblings, Frieda Camp, Wallace Del Carlo and Frank Del Carlo; 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grand- children.
Visitation will be held at Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
A Graveside service will be held at Sanger Cemetery on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 1:00 PM.
