One football team 0in the Mid Valley Times coverage region is left standing in the Central Section playoffs — the Dinuba High Emperors.
In a see-saw second half, Dinuba (8-4) rallied twice against the gritty Paso Robles High Bears — scoring the winning points on a touch- down reception by Mikey Ol- vera with just six seconds re- maining — to pull out a 28-24 Division III quarterfinal vic- tory at DHS on Nov. 12.
The other remaining MVT region playoff team playoff, Immanuel High, was blanked 14-0 by Liberty-Madera Ran- chos in the Division V quar-
terfinals Nov. 12 at County Line Stadium. The top-seeded Eagles finished 7-4 in their first season under new head coach Josh Henderson.
Dinuba, seeded third in Di- vision III, has one more home game in the D-III semifinals at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, against Bakersfield Christian. The seventh seed Eagles (9-3) knocked off No. 2 Strathmore by a 29-19 score on Nov. 12. The team is coached by Dar- ren Carr; his brother, former Fresno State star and veteran NFL quarterback David Carr, serves as an assistant coach.
The Emperors trailed 17-14 and then 24-21 in the final two minutes. But the team moved quickly downfield, getting the decisive points on a pass from
