A memorial plaque was placed in downtown Dinuba this past Saturday, June 29, honoring the life of Dinuba's Dan Meinert. Members of the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors gathered with Meinert's family in the middle of the 100 block of North L Street, where the plaque is located, for the unveiling.
Meinert was a longtime employee for the city of Dinuba, where he worked many years as the Deputy City Manager, and also spent a few years as the city's Interim City Manager.
He was also well known for his service to the community through various service groups, such as Knights of Columbus, Dinuba Kiwanis Club and the Alta District Historical Society, to name a few. He died in May of 2017 after battling leukemia.
