Police in Reedley and Orange Cove along with Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies dealt with four separate cases of vehicle theft in a 27-hour period in surrounding regions near Reedley last week.
The first theft was reported to county sher- iff’s deputies on Nov. 11 at about 5 p.m. in the 7200 block of South Lac Jac Avenue. A little more than 90 minutes later, Orange Cove police took a report of a theft in the 700 block of 8th Street.
At about 7 a.m. on Nov. 12, another vehicle theft was reported to county sheriff’s deputies

in the 4500 block of South Greenwood Avenue, west of Parlier. A vehicle theft then was report- ed in Reedley, when police took a call shortly before 8:30 p.m. about a missing vehicle in the 1600 block of North Haney Avenue.
There was no word on the make or model of the missing vehicles, or if any of the ve- hicles had been recovered. Police advise the public to lock and if possible have alarms on vehicles, and to avoid leaving any valuables in sight to discourage break-ins.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office also reported a residential burglary the morning of Nov. 14 in the 7900 block of South Newmark Avenue, just north of the Parlier city limits.

Sihota appointed to FCTA board as at-large member

The Fresno County Trans- portation Authority on Nov. 19 announced the appoint- ment of Kirpal “Paul” Sihota as an “at-large” Rural Public Members of the nine-mem- ber board that includes local elected officials.
Sihota, a Selma resident, has been appointed for a two- year term with the board, which serves the Central Val- ley region including Reedley.
“Paul Sihota understands the transportation needs of the Valley,” said Fresno Coun- ty Supervisor Buddy Mendes, chairman of the FCTA board. “His 35 years of experience as an owner and operator of a local trucking business will bring a unique perspective to
