Volunteers from Dinuba’s Relay For Life recently attended the American Cancer Society (ACS) Sierra Nevada – Central Valley 2019 Relay For Life Leadership Conference in Modesto. The conference utilized ACS staff partners and community volunteers to facilitate training sessions. Karen Fier, co-lead of the 2019 Relay For Life of Dinuba, was a volunteer facilitator at this year’s conference.
Relay For Life is a community event, led by volunteers and supported by American Cancer Society staff.
Relay For Life events take place worldwide throughout the year. Funds raised at these events provided 452,000 free nights of lodging at Hope Lodge facilities, enabled grants that contributed to 602,000 low- or no-cost screening exams in underserved communities, invested in funding research and studies ($4.6 million since 1946) to find the causes of cancer, better treatment and improve the lives of cancer patients.
