date for Sanger
Youth Soccer

The Sanger Youth Soccer League has one more signup date scheduled: Saturday, Aug.21from8to11 a.m. at Greenwood Park, Palm and Green- wood avenues.
League officials say that any players signing up late after that date will have a late fee and be put on a wait list. Play- ers signing up late also cannot be guaranteed placement on a team.
Registration fees for Under-6 and U8 and Up leagues include uni- forms, pictures (small package provided, 11
games of play and med- als. The Little Kick- ers program has eight games of play along with photos and a shirt.
Actual or copy of the child's birth certificate is required, along with a photo of the child.
According to league officials, commissioners still are needed for the Jackson, Josh Wash and Sequoia school areas. There is no guarantee that players from these schools will be assigned to a team. The season starts Saturday, Sept. 18.

Reedley, the reigning North Yosemite League champion, opens the season Friday, Aug. 20, with a non-league home game against Hanford West High.

Sanger, reigning County Metro Athletic Conference champion, opens the season at home against Clovis High on Aug. 20 before hosting Fresno High on Aug. 27 before consecutive road games against rival Clovis East (Thurs- day, Sept. 2) and Lemoore High (Sept. 10).
The Apaches host Centennial of Bakersfield on Friday, Sept. 17, in Hall of Fame Night, when Sanger native Tom Flores will be honored for his induction in the
Pro Football Hall of Fame. Other home games are against Edison (Oct. 1), Madera South (Oct. 22) and San Joaquin Memorial (Oct. 29).

In volleyball, Immanuel High
will hosts Reedley High in a 5 p.m. varsity matchup at IHS gym. The Eagles then host Minarets in a 6 p.m. start at Immanuel. Di- nuba's official opener is Tuesday, Aug. 17, in Fresno against Bul- lard High while Sanger travels to Fresno for a season-opening match against Central on Wednes- day, Aug. 18.

Nearly all of Fresno State's football games for 2021 are planning to be televised over the airwaves, includ- ing the season opener on Saturday, Aug. 28, against the University of Connecticut.
The game with UCo- nn at Bulldogs Stadium will have an 11 a.m. kickoff, and be tele- vised live by CBS Sports Network (cable, satel- lite and streaming). All games except at New Mexico (Nov. 13) will be available on broadcast or cable/satellite.

The city of Sanger Parks & Recreation di- vision is offering a free boxing program at the Sanger Youth Center weekdays for boys and girls ages 8 and older, as well as adults 18 years and older.
Those interested will need to complete a regis- tration form, which can be completed on site. Work- outs run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. weekdays for boys ands girls (8-17 years) and 7 to 8:30 p.m. for adults.
There are also op- portunities for those who demonstrate more dedication and skill to advance on to the USA
Boxing competition level (some fees may apply).
