SUMMARY
The City recently adopted the 2035 General Plan update, including the North Academy Corridor Master Plan as an implementing tool. As part of this update, the 2035 General Plan called for the creation of two new zoned districts, C-5 (Highway Commercial District) and RMU (Retail Mixed-Use District). The proposed ordinance implements the General Plan update by amending the Sanger Municipal Code to integrate the C-5 and RMU zoned districts. Given the “project” under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) implements the previously approved and assessed 2035 General Plan update, the project is exempt from further environmental review under CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3).
