TUMACDER Continued from page A1
in February.
“This is where I was meant to be,” she
said. “Everything happens for a reason.” She said she has grown with the staff at El Monte and has seen changes in the
community.
“Kids really want to come to school,”
she said. “We worked really hard to cre- ate an environment where not only stu- dents, but parents feel welcomed.”
The transition has been unprecedent- ed due the current pandemic, Tumacder pointed out that work continues as teach- ers have continue to stay connected with the students.
“Our teachers have been doing a great job reaching out to students, mak- ing sure they are okay,” she said.
She said she is lucky to get to work and do something she absolutely loves to do.
“Cutler-Orosi really has a piece of my heart that I can’t describe,” she said. “This town is so special to me. I want to make the parents and the community proud of the work we have going here at El Monte. This is a really tight-knit community. I can’t imagine myself any- where else.”
