ABOVE: A roundabout at Reed and North Avenues was completed the end of February after about six months of work. In early April , the repaving of Reed Avenue be- tween North and Manning avenues was completed. That work included installation of a center median.

ABOVE NEAR RIGHT: There was a transition in leadership at the Kings Canyon Unified School District in 2017. Juan Garza, left photo, retired at the end of June after 27 years with the district, the last 15 years as superinten- dent. JohnCampbell,formerdeputysuperintendent, succeeded Garza effective July 1.

ABOVE FAR RIGHT: Paseo 55, the 55-unit affordable housing apartment complex, officially opened in down- town Reedley during a dedication ceremony on Dec. 7. The $15 million project offered qualifying residents af- fordable housing through the Fresno Housing Authority.
RIGHT: Renowned international evangelist Luis Palau spoke to hundreds of people during La Gran Fiesta at the Reedley Sports Park on March 25. The Reedley event was a precursor to a two-day revival in Fresno.
FAR RIGHT: A Reedley police cruiser guards the entrance to Reedley High School during an April 6 lockdown at the school. Police ordered the two-hour lockdown after there was a report of a gun on campus.
