• A man reported at 3:16 p.m. that a person took his bicycle by force near Dinuba Market in the 1300 block of South Greene Street.
The Reedley Police Department handled 522 public-initiated and offi- cer-initiated calls for ser- vice, with 109 dispatched as Priority 1 calls. Offi- cers completed 82 police reports, made 15 arrests and issued 17 traffic ci- tations. There were eight traffic collisions and no DUI cases, nine fire calls and 20 medical aid calls.

Homer Oviedo
December 6, 1947 - April 11, 2021
Homer Oviedo of Reedley peacefully passed away on April 11,
2021, at his home.
Homer was born in Monterrey,
Mexico, and later spent some time in Texas before moving to the Central Valley.
He was a proud and dedicated truck driver and later retired due to health reasons.
He spent his last 13 years working at The Cat House on
the Kings, alongside his son and best friend Christopher Oviedo.
He was a hard-working man and worked up until his last day on earth. Having a passion for the outdoors, Homer often spent his
time at the lake, in the mountains, and camping with his wife Martha, his one true love.
He was a family man and loved all of his children and grandchildren unconditionally. Everyone knew him for his pleasant personality and contagious laughter and humor.
He was a selfless, giving person and would offer the shirt off his back if you needed it.
He is now preceded in death by his beautiful wife, brother, parents, grandchild and a great grandchild. Homer is survived by his seven children, 39 grandchildren, 29 great- grandchildren, five sisters, one brother, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who love him dearly.

Emery Loyd Huebert went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 14, 2021. Emery is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ernestine Huebert. Other survivors include: son, Michael Lawrence, Daughter Barbara Thiesen & son-in-law Tim, Son, Billy Graham and daughter-in-law Ronda, Grandchildren Dallas Thiesen & wife Valerie, Jocelynn Mosher & husband Wesley, Gavin Graham & wife Megan and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings George Huebert & Mary Moshier and numerous nieces and nephews.
Emery was preceded in death by parents Abe & Marie Huebert, son Scott Huebert, beloved grandson Travis Thiesen and siblings Wilmer Huebert, Allen Huebert & Irene Fitch.
Emery was born in Corn, Oklahoma on Feb 5, 1930. His family moved to California when he was 2 so he considered himself a life long Californian. He attended Reedley schools, graduating from Reedley High School in 1948. He went on to attend Reedley College before enlisting in the United States Air Force were he served as an airplane mechanic in Korea during the Korean War.
Upon returning from the service he completed his college education and received a teaching credential. He taught 42 years for King Canyon Unified. During his years teaching he also served as the Director of SCICON, the outdoor education camp for 6th graders for 21 years.
Emery was very active in the community of Reedley serving as Vice Mayor of the City Council, Lt. Governor of Kiwanis, Division 5, was a life long member of PTA, and served on several county boards and commissions. He was a life long member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle in Reedley serving as a leader for the Royal Rangers in his younger years.
After retirement, he & Ernestine travelled the world extensively enjoying many wonderful trips with friends and family. He also devoted many trips to taking his grandkids camping in the mountains and the coast. He would often spend weeks at a time camping and hiking with the kids. His grandkids meant the world to him.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff at Palm Village and Hinds Hospice for the wonderful care given to Emery these past 2 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in the summer. In lieu of flowers please consider sending donations to the Travis Thiesen
Memorial Scholarship fund at Dinuba High School or Hinds Hospice in Fresno.

Amanda Leigh Smith, 34 of Sanger was called home by her Lord and Savior on April 10, 2021.
Amanda was born of August 31, 1986 in Fresno, CA and raised in Sanger, CA. She graduated from Sanger High School in 2004. Amanda was employed by the Fresno Superior Court as a Judicial Assistant assigned to the Criminal Courtroom Support department. Amanda enjoyed traveling. A favorite destination was New York, She was a staunch San Francisco Giants fan and attended many games.
Amanda is preceded in death by her grandparents, Guadalupe M and Amparo A Gutierrez and James Smith and cousin Melissa Smith. She is survived by her parents Ron and Diane Smith of Sanger. Siblings, Sean Smith, Christopher Bernal, and Jacquelyn Hernandez (Jaime) all of Sanger, Kyle Smith (Amanda Rangel) of Clovis and her partner, Israel Alvarado of Orosi. Nieces, Ryin Hernandez, Madison Lopez, Zowie and Natasha Hernandez all of Sanger, Morgan and Mary Lou Smith of Clovis and nephew, Jude Bernal of Sanger.
Services will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church located at Bethel and North in Sanger. Visitation 11:00am, Rosary 12:00 with Mass immediately following.
Due to COVID restriction Internment at Sanger Cemetery
will be private. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at Kings River Winery 4276 S Greenwood Ave. Sanger from
1:30pm -5:30pm

Dorothy Blanche Leonard was born March 29th, 1920 in Cleveland, Ohio. She passed away peacefully on
March 19th just a few days shy of being 101 years.
In her lifetime she made rocking chairs and toys out of local lumber-owned her own hairdressing salon, was a short order cook, did a lot of sewing, made ceramics and many other things. She was a homemaker and good friends to many.
Dorothy attended Hilltop Chapel in Miramonte for some years.
She is survived by her son Lee Leonard – married to Barbara Leonard – her daughter Loretta Garrett both of Squaw Valley, California. Three grandchildren, Carrie Guy married to Tim, Beth Ann Diringer and Matthew Leonard married to Samantha. She had 9 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
She has lived in Linesville, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Bellevue, Ohio. They moved to Anaheim then to the mountains in Squaw Valley, California.
She was proceeded in death by her husband John Leonard in 1993 and her first great grandson Michael Christopher Guy in 1984. She will be interned in Jefferson, Ohio alongside her husband.
A memorial service will be held on April 17th at 1:00pm in the annex of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Reedley.
Service will be conducted by Pastor Ron Robertson, Pastor Steve Odom & Pastor Rod Davidson.
