Huge rally from 8-run deficit fuels RC baseball sweep

A three-game sweep of Taft College last week featured an incredible comeback from an eight-run first inning deficit by the Reedley College Tigers baseball team on March 3.
The three wins improved Reedley to 4-2 in Central Val- ley Conference action and 13-4 overall going into a three-game series this week with Porter- ville (0-5, 2-16). The series be- gan in Reedley on March 8 and continued Thursday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in Porterville before concluding in Reedley at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12. The Tigers play at College of the Sequoias
on Tuesday, March 15.
Against Taft, Reedley rolled

In the March 3 comeback, Leo Arrequin had one hit in his last 14 at-bats. But he lined a two-out double down the right field line to end the 3 hour, 41 minute thriller.
In the March 1 win, Justin Tiger drove in five runs with four singles and a double while Roman Rosales and Kropf both knocked in three runs. Orin Hirschkorn added a two-run homer.
Ryan Garza picked up the pitching win, allowing an un-
earned run in five innings.
Tigers softball blanked in conference opener
With five home games com- ing up on the schedule, the Reedley College Tiger softball team hopes to bounce back from a shutout loss to Fresno City College last week in the Central Valley Conference opener for both teams.
The Rams' Stephanie Garcia (Reedley) and Brianna Duncan (Immanuel, Kingsburg) com- bined to hold the Tigers to five hits in the 7-0 victory on March 3.

uled to host West Hills Coal- inga on March 8, but the dou- bleheader was canceled as the Falcons dropped their softball program.
College of the Sequoias comes to Tiger Diamond for a 3 p.m. game Thursday, March 10, before Bakersfield trav- els to Reedley for an 11 a.m. matchup and Monterey Pen- insula College takes on the Tigers at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 12.
Men's golf continues home dominance
On March 7, the Reedley College Tiger men’s golf team dominated Fresno City Col- lege and Monterey Peninsula College on Reedley’s home
course, the Kings River Golf and Country Club.
Reedley has now won 22 of the last 23 tournaments at KRGC since 2011, according to Tiger head coach Scott Stark. The Tigers are 67-1 in that span, and haven’t lost at home since 2014.
The Tigers shot 375 as a team and had the top six scores of the day. Emil Er- iksson shot 73 and garnered Medalist honors. Other Tiger scores included Cole Obrige- witsch and Cole Bennett with 75, Patrick Sperling and Jacob Moller with 76 and Jack Peters with an 83.

BASEBALL Pirates bounce back from first loss
Reedley High (5-1) suffered its first loss of the young season at home against Kerman last week, but rebounded strong with a 9-4 victory at Immanuel High in the Central Valley Diamond Classic on March 5.
Senior Will Gagnon pitched a complete game, scattering five hits and striking out 13, and also went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and four runs bagged in. Darren Ortiz and Josiah Frie- denberg collected two hits apiece while Ryan Warkentin belted an in- side-the-park home run.
