NAIA halls of fame. "This means more to me than probably any of those others, because this is where I started," she said. "I have to thank my mom for that, being will- ing to drive me over here
and bring me here." Ainger-Schulte
thanked her many coach- es and teammates. "I don't think I could be up here if it weren't for teammates and people like you who made this journey what it was," she said.
Bob Vasilovic, tourna- ment Most Valuable Play- er in the 1966 Valley final, accepted the award for Jensen, who lives in Ne- braska and was unable to attend because of health issues.
"When Chuck Jensen came to Reedley High School, the culture of Reedley basketball would change quickly," Vasilov- ich said. "The tone of the Valley changed as well. Cities to the north, Fresno and Madera, Visalia and Bakersfield to the south, and all of the smaller farming communities soonwouldfindoutwhat Reedley High School bas- ketball was all about."
Vasilovich praised the no-nonsense, fundamental coaching style of Jensen, who led the Pirates to the two Valley titles and four finals appearances along with eight Central Sequoia League titles. From 1963 to 1972, Reedley went 95- 11 in league and won five consecutive Kingsburg Tournament titles.
"It seemed like the
championship trophy lived in the trophy case at the main hall," Vasilovich said.
Vasilovich later was joined on stage by for- mer teammates Doug Penner, David Figueroa, Larry McCutcheon, Ron Perelli-Minetti and Adri- an Velasquez to recog- nize the championship teams. Reedley defeated theMcLaneHighlanders both years; 45-44 in 1965 and 62-56 in 1966.
The fourth inductee, Seaman, lives in South- ern California and also was unable to attend be- cause of health issues. He is renowned for setting a national prep record of 4 minutes, 21 seconds while winning the state champi- onship as a senior in 1953. He later starred at UCLA and broke the four-minute mile mark in 1962,
