'Bark for Life' in Dinuba held for good cause

There were 18 mem- bers of the 1949 gradu- ating class of Sanger High who gathered at O’Sullivan’s Lounge in Fresno on Oct. 19 to cel- ebrate their 70th year reunion.
Some of the enthusi-
astic 88-year-olds who attended the reunion traveled from places like Chico and Bakers- field to reunite with their classmates and friends and also to con- gratulate eachother on their impressive sur- vival skills.

A lab mix was ready to participate in the annual Bark for Life event held in Dinuba.
Categories included best kiss, fetch, stay and "owner lookalike."

Members of the com- munity turned out for the American Cancer Soci- ety Bark For Life Dinuba Dog Days on Saturday.
“Pawticipants” re- ceived a certificate, a free opportunity draw- ing ticket and goodie bag. Categories includ- ed best kiss, fetch, stay, special talent, costume, purple pride, tail wag,
roll over, dog/owner look- a-like and doggie musical chairs.
The Dinuba Police Department’s K-9 unit also gave a demonstra- tion.
Other activities in- cluded creating a clay paw print, exhibitor booths as well as adop- tion opportunities, licens- ing renewals. Pet Haven mobile grooming offered nail trims at an afford- able cost.
Proceeds from "Bark for Life" benefit the American Cancer Society
As in previous years, the Dinuba Lions Club grilled hot dogs.
The Bark For Life event is co-sponsored by ACS and the City of Dinu-
ba’s Park and Communi- ty Services department. Other sponsors included the Low family, Dinuba Chamber of Commerce, Dinuba Kiwanis, Dinuba Lions and the Dinuba Woman’s Club.
Proceeds from the event benefits the Amer- ican Cancer Society’s Re-
lay for Life of Dinuba as well as additional ameni- ties at the Jimmie Low Community Dog Park.
