Reedley police handled two stolen vehicle calls and a grand theft vehicle burglary last week.
The first theft occurred June 25 in the 900 block of South Church Avenue. Sometime be- tween 10 p.m. June 24 and 8 a.m. on the 25th, a 1997 Honda Accord was taken from the scene. The vehicle later was found undamaged by Orange Cove police in the area of Adams and Anchor avenues according to Reedley police

The second vehicle theft took place mid-
morning June 27 in the 900 block of East Eve- ning Glow Avenue.
Rivera said a thief or thieves took a laptop computer, prescription medication, keys and identification from a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze parked in the 2000 block of East Washington Avenue. The theft occurred sometime in the overnight hours June 24 or 25, Rivera said. The victim told police that she inadvertently left the door unlocked.
Mary Chagoya
Mary Chagoya, a longtime resident of Reed- ley, passed away on June 26, 2018, at the
age of 97. She was married in 1939 at the age of 18, to Phillip Chagoya. ey
were married for 66 years. She was a loving mother to the following chil- dren who were honored to call her mother; sons Phillip Jr. and omas and daughters Rachel and Alice. Mary rededicated her life to Jesus and was re-baptized into the Seventh
Day Adventist Church in 2007. She was preceded in death by her
husband Phillip and son Phillip Jr. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Rachel
and Loyal Bartel, daughter and son-in-law Alice and Richard Esquerra, son omas Chagoya, eight grandchil- dren, 20 great-grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband and son. Funeral Services will be held at the Dinuba Seventh Day Adventist
Church, 325 Eaton Ave. on Monday, July 9, at 10:00 a.m.
Mick Lee chaffin
March 25, 1963 ~ June 26, 2018
On June 26, 2018 Mick closed his eyes
here on earth for the very last time. Mick was born on March 25, 1963 in Dinuba, California. He was preceded in death by both parents, Raymond and Lucille Chaf n, brother Gary, father in law Jim Parker and many of his aunts and uncles. He leaves behind his loving wife Anita after 30 years of marriage; two aunts and many cousins; his extended family, mother in law Tressie Parker, brother in law Jimmie Parker, three sisters in law and brothers in law Charlotte Tessore and Bill, Jackie DePriest and Gary, Susan Daken and Kelly, and many nieces and nephews. Mick lived his entire life here in California. Even though both Mick and Anita grew up in Orange Cove and went to school together, they started dating in their early twenties where they both worked in the automotive industry. They settled in Reedley where
they spent a wonderful 30 years together.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
