The council also accepted a Notice of Completion for the Randle Avenue Construction Project. At a cost of just over $1.2 million, the project extended Randle Avenue on
theeastsideoftownfromOlive Way to Kamm Avenue.
A final inspection of the project was performed on April 30 by the Public Improvements Inspector. Last year, the city of Dinuba received a $1.3 million CDGB grant for the extension of Randle Avenue as part of a strategy to revitalize the city’s east side commercial corridor.
According to City Engineer Jason Watts, the completion of the project will increase connectivity and access from the existing and future residential areas to the south of the commercial areas along East El Monte Way, from Crawford to Road 92.

George Margosian
George Margosian, a resident of Dinuba, died May 18, 2019. He was 82.
He was a farmer.
Visitation will be Monday, May 27 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Dopkins Funeral Chapel. Home service will be at 7 p.m. at the Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Armenian Church in Yettem.
Surviving family members include his wife, two daughters and four grandchildren.
Remembrances may be sent to St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, PO Box 367, Yettem, CA 93670.

Ascencion "Chon" Valdez
Asencion Valdez, a resident of Dinuba, died May 7, 2019. He was 78.
Valdez worked 32 years for Dinuba Public Works.
Services were held May 15 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Dinuba. Graveside services were held at Smith Mountain Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, three brothers and one sister and many nieces and nephews.
Cairns Funeral Home handled funeral arrangements.
Vonette L. Wright
Vonette L. Wright, a resident of Visalia, died May 14, 2019. She was 72.
She was an educator.
Private services will be held.
Surviving family members include a son, a daughter, a brother,
a sister and five grandchildren.

Marty Yarbrough
Marty Yarbrough, a resident of Orosi, died May 3, 2019. He was 57.
He worked in general labor.
Surviving family members include his parents, a brother and sister.

A fourth gang member died during a shootout with resident

Three gang members were sentenced last week to 25 years- to-life in prison for a violent 2014 home invasion in Orosi that left multiple persons injured and one dead.
According to Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward, the three gang members, Rolando Magana, 23, Edgar Picazo, 25, and Francisco Padilla, 26, were each charged in August of 2018 with one count of premeditated murder with the special allegation of the use of a firearm and that the crime was committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang. In addition, the three were charged with four counts of willful and deliberate premeditated attempted murder, also with the same special allegations of using a firearm

Monday, May 13
• A residential burglary was reported in the 300 block of East Northridge Drive at 9:13 a.m.
• An injury traffic collision was reported in the area of Floral and Alta avenues at 9:39 a.m. The accident reportedly involved a vehicle that went into a canal.
• A loose brown and white pitbull reportedly chased a person in the 300 block of West North Way. It was reported at 12:59 p.m.
• A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 1100 block of Holden Avenue at 3:55 p.m. Male subjects were reportedly inside a black Cadillac smoking.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 1300 block of East El Monte Way at 7:37 p.m. A male subject wearing a blue shirt and brown shorts was reportedly casing the area carrying a plastic bag.
• A suspicious subject was reported in the 1300 block of Euclid Avenue at 10:31 p.m. A

Ward said in the early morning, around 5 a.m., of May 27, 201, the three, along with another gang member, approached a home in Orosi to commit an armed home invasion. The resident of the home, trying to protect his younger siblings, reportedly produced a firearm and a shootout ensued between him and the gang members.
One gang member was killed in the shootout, while others

The three surviving gang members quickly drove to Kaweah Delta Hospital where Picazo and Padillo reportedly carried a wounded Magana into the emergency room before fleeing. The incident, according to Ward, was captured on the
hospital’s surveillance cameras. Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies were able to use the video to obtain the license number and track down the defendants. Picazo fled to Mexico, but surrendered himself

to law enforcement in April of 2016.
In separate cases, Magana pleaded to accessory after the fact with the special allegation that the crime was committed for the benefit of a street gang in a 2017 incident at the Bob Wiley Detention Facility. According to District Attorney’s Office, Padilla was also charged with possessing a weapon at the facility in 2017. Picazo received an additional count of attempted murder for an incident that occurred in custody the same year.

• Shots fired was reported in the 1000 block of East Park Way at 9:21 p.m.
• A fire was reported in the area of Avenue 324 and Road 64 at 9:28 p.m.
Saturday, May 18
• A male and female were reportedly seen attempting to enter a vacant building in the 100 block of Lindara Avenue at 1:27 a.m.
• A subject was trying to get into an apartment through a window in the 200 block of West North Way at 3:58 a.m.
• A person was heard screaming from inside a vacant home in the 1300 block of East Whittaker Way at 8:44 a.m.
• A vehicle burglary was reported in the 1300 block of West Kelly Drive at 6:10 p.m.
Sunday, May 19
• A male subject with no shirt was reportedly throwing trash cans and yelling at Felix Delgado Park at 11:51 a.m.
• Domestic violence was reported in the 12000 block of Avenue 320. One subject reportedly had a gun.
• Vandalism was reported in the 200 block of East Tulare Street at 3:31 p.m. Unknown subjects reportedly spray painted the workd 'toke' on a delivery vehicle.
• A theft report was made in the 300 block of South L Street at 4:51 p.m. The victim reportedly believed that his ex-wife took his wallet and phone while he was at her residence on Eaton Avenue.

Tuesday, May 14
• An injury collision was reported in the area of El Monte Way and Eaton Avenue at 10:31 a.m. A pregnant female was reportedly injured in the accident.
• A homeless encampment was reported behind the old KMart building at 2:30 p.m.
• A theft report was made in the 700 block of West El Monte Way at 4:44 p.m. Items were reportedly taken from a red Dodge pickup.
• Subjects were reportedly drinking at the downtown entertainment plaze. It was reported at 7:13 p.m.
Wednesday, May 15
• Someone reportedly let the air out of a vehicles tires in the 1200 block of Mark Drive. It was reported at 11:04 a.m.
• Animal control was called out to the 1900 block of East Sierra Way for a residence having over 17 cats. It was reported at 1:11
p.m.
• An injury traffic collision
was reported in the 9600 block of Avenue 408 at 3:43 p.m. The accident involved four vehicles, two of which were semi trucks. One person was also reported to be on the roadway.
• A bike was reported stolen in the 2200 block of East El Monte Way at 5:50 p.m.
• Two females were reportedly seen entering an alley and jumping a fence in the 100 block of East North Way at 6:06 p.m. The females were then reportedly seen leaving with a chainsaw.
• Shots fired was reported in the area of Sequoia Drive and North Alta Avenue at 9:53 p.m. Five shots were reportedly heard in the area.
Thursday, May 16
• A gun shot was heard in the 200 block of North Alta Avenue at 6:49 a.m.
• The front license plate of a food truck was reported stolen in the 500 block of South Alta Avenue at 11:18 a.m.
• A fire was reported in the 1800 block of East Franzen Way at 2:25 p.m. Smoke was reportedly seen coming from a residence.
• A male subject wearing a gray shirt was seen trying to enter a ponding basin in the area of Randle Avenue and Olive Way at 5:18 p.m.
• Vandalism was reported in the 300 block of Sue Avenue at 8:18 p.m. Someone reportedly threw a glass bottle at a truck.
• Suspicious subjects were reported in the 100 block of East North Way at 11:44 p.m. Two subjects were reportedly seen in the area riding bikes with backpacks and flashlights.
