Adolfo Javier-Romero Avendano
Adolfo Javier-Rome-
ro Avendano of Kings- burg died Feb. 12. He was 72.
Mr. Romero Aven- dano was a field worker for various employers.
He is survived by four sons and three daughters.
Visitation and rosa- ry were held Feb. 23 at Wallin's Parlier Funeral Home. A funeral mass was held March 1 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lemoore.
Wallin's Parlier Fu- neral Home handled the arrangements.
Ricardo
Chavana Jr. Ricardo Chavana Jr.
of Parlier died Feb. 20. He was 16.
Ricardo was a student at Parlier High School.
He is survived by his parents, Ricardo and Maria Chavana of Parli- er, and one brother.
Visitation and rosary were held March 2 at Wallin's Parlier Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Parli- er. Interment will follow at Mendocino Cemetery in Parlier.
Ramiro
Gonzalez Jr. Ramiro Gonzalez Jr.
of Reedley died Feb. 13 in Selma. He was 40.
Mr. Gonzalez worked as a pellet maker.
He is survived by his wife, Samarha Gonza- lez; his parents, Ramiro and Luz Gonzalez; three daughters, two brothers and one sister.
Visitation was held on March 1 at Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel. A funeral service was held March 2 at Reed- ley Mennonite Brethren Church. Burial followed at the Reedley Cemetery District.

Benjamin Franklin Hicks Benjamin Franklin
Hicks of Fresno died Feb. 24 in Fresno. He was 78.
Mr. Hicks worked as a long haul truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hicks; two sons, two daughters, one sister, 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchil-
dren.
Services will be
held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Reedley Cemetery.
Roy J. Huerta
Roy J. Huerta of Reedley died Feb. 16 in Fresno. He was 95.
Mr. Huerta worked as
a barber.
He is survived by
one son, one daughter, one brother, four grand- children and three great- grandchildren.
A rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by a mass at 11 a.m. Fri- day, March 4, at St. An- thony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be at Reedley Cemetery.

Jasmine Martinez of Dinuba died Feb. 20. She was 25.
Ms. Martinez was a homemaker.
She is survived by her mother, her father and two children.

in Visalia. He was 74. Mr. Ortiz worked for
the City of Fresno.
He is survived by his
wife, Emma Ortiz; two daughters, one sister, seven grandchildren and four great-grand- children.

na of Sanger died Feb. 14 in Fresno. She was 86. Mrs. Ozuna worked
as an LVN nurse.
She is survived by
two sons, three grand- children and seven great-grandchildren.

Delfina Ramirez of Sanger died March 1 1 in Sanger. She was 89.
Mrs. Ramirez worked as a packer for Sea Brook.
She is survived by one son, two daughters, five grandchildren and three great-grandchil- dren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus R. Ramirez.
Visitation and wake were held March 1 at Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home. A funeral service was March 2 at Seventh- Day Adventist Church in Sanger. Burial followed at Sanger Cemetery.

Alice L. Vargus of Sanger died Feb. 24. She was 76.
Ms. Vargus worked as an accountant.
She is survived by two sons, one daughter, one brother and one sis- ter.

August 2, 1947 ~ February 21, 2022
Edward Robert Ortiz, Jr. was born on August 2, 1947 to Edward C. Ortiz Sr. and Mary R. Ortiz in Reedley. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on February 21, 2022 at his residence in Visalia.
He is survived by wife Emma M. Ortiz of 54 years; his daughters Deanna M. Ortiz of Visalia and Deborah Ortiz Hoppert of Visalia; his sister Rachel Figueroa of Visalia; seven grandchildren: Desiree, Erika, and Vincent Gomez, Paul Escandon Jr., Marissa and Adam Navarro and Tanya Ortiz; four great grandchildren: Aliyah and Elijah Torres, Julius Escandon and Jayden Torrez. Edward was preceded in death by his parents and his only son Edward A. Ortiz III.
Edward attended St. La Salle for 8 years. He attended Reedley High School and graduated in 1965. He attended Reedley College for 1 year then enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 3, 1966. He served 4 years and was honorably discharged November 2, 1970.
Edward and his family lived in Clovis. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Emma and their children and grandchildren. He worked for PacBell, AT&T and the City of Fresno. He retired from the City of Fresno in 2010. He enjoyed his remaining 2 1⁄2 years in Visalia with his wife and family.
Viewing from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Dopkins Reedley Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 17, 2022 and a Mass service the next day, Friday, March 18, 2022 at the old St Anthony’s Catholic Church on “F St,” at 1:00 PM Followed by a graveside service at Reedley Cemetery District.

Carmen Villegas, age 77 of Reedley, CA passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
She was a retired homemaker and
member of RISE Church in Fresno where
her son serves as the lead pastor. She was a
beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Carmen enjoyed camping, music, dancing, pedicures, going to the movies, novellas, the Dallas Cowboys and “Pizza Saturdays” with a side of popcorn. But above all she loved spending time with her husband and family.
Preceded in death by her parents Cristobal Lozano and Eva Alcoset and two brothers Cristobal Lozano Jr. and Adan Lozano. She is survived by her husband of 44 years and love of her life Tommy Villegas; son Trinidad Amador and his wife, Andrea; daughter Patricia Amador and her wife, Inez; son Juan “Tito” Villegas and his wife, Deanna; sister Isabel De La Cruz and her husband, Alfred; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends who loved her dearly.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Crosspoint Church, 2518 N. Cedar, Fresno, CA 93703.
