The Dinuba High Emper- ors clinched the Central Se- quoia League boys basketball championship on Feb. 4 with the first of two victories over Central Valley Christian dur- ing a perfect 3-0 week,.
The Emperors (24-3, 10-1 CSL) rode the strength of a 21- 9 third quarter run to break open a tight game and go on to a 51-38 win over the Cava- liers (6-16, 3-8) at Washington Intermediate gym. Anthony Harp and Keine Prendez led the way with 14 points apiece while five different players hit 3-point baskets in the de- cisive quarter.
Dinuba had started the week with a 65-50 road win Feb. 1 at Kingsburg (Jesus Lara scored a team-high 17 points) and then closed the week with a 64-40 road drub- bing of CV Christian on Feb. 7. In that win, Prendez scored nine of his 16 points as the Emps led 28-11 at half.
