At Reedley College on Oct. 20, Parlier High sophomore Evan Tor- res captured first place in the varsity boys 5000 meter race in the Cam Ostrand Invitational. Tor- res clocked 17 minutes, 1.31 seconds to beat out 72 other varsity runners.

Ryan Warkentin, Yahir Gon- zalez and Andrew Medina all had rushing touchdowns for Reedley, which utilized multiple players in the wildcat formation as quar- terback Jacob Rocha sat out the game with an injury. Warkentin had 164 yards on 23 carries, giv- ing him 1,215 rush yards in eight games.
The Pirates' defense limited McLane to 187 total yards in post- ing the team's second shutout of the season. Reedley has yielded just 85 points in eight games.
Washington Union 21, Sanger 14
At Sanger, the Apaches dropped their second straight, this one a non-league contest with the Panthers. The game was quickly scheduled after Madera South bowed out of its conference game because of COVID issues.
The game was tied at 14 at the half, with Sanger's scores coming in the second quarter on a 2-yard run by Markie Botello and a 7-yard pass in the final seconds from Josiah Duarte to Ashton Ro- driguez. But the Panthers got the only score of a defense-dominat- ed second half as Lawrence Stell connected on a 13-yard scoring pass to Karlos Grier in the third quarter,
Sanger was limited to 211 total yards, 195 on the ground led by Jacob Gonzalez with 66 yards on four carries.

Sanger High's girls volleyball team celebrated with a group photo after clinching the County Metro Athletic Conference championship on Oct. 21 with a four-set victory at Madera South.
Dinuba High's Sebastian Olivera hauled in a 21-yard touchdown reception in the Emperors' 49-7 rout of Exeter on Oct. 22. Olivera alsorushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns.

At O'Neals, the Eagles (5-3) rolled to their fourth consecutive victory, posting their third shut- out of the fall in their regular sea- son finale.
Senior Jacob Cabrera collected three touchdowns and 115 yards on just six carries, and Hector Davila III and Will Henderson added touchdowns as Immanuel finished with 289 rushing yards.
Sophomore Lucas Cords also caught a touchdown pass from fellow soph Jake Horn.
Orosi 62, Parlier 0
At Parlier, the Cardinals (6-3, 3-2 West Sequoia) got 148 yards and six touchdowns rushing from sophomore Andrew Camarillo while sophomore Lance Lopez threw for 211 yards and three TDs.
Orosi scored 20 points in the third quarter and 14 in each of the other three quarters. The Cardi- nals close the regular season at home Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. against Orange Cove.
Caruthers 28, Orange Cove 14
At Orange Cove, the Titans (4-5, 2-3 WSL) came up short in their attempt to move into a sec- ond place tie in league as the vis- iting Blue Raiders (4-5, 4-1) pulled ahead early. Sophomore running back Hunter Babb rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns.

In the girls race, Sanger freshman Zowie Hernandez ran 22:43.13 to place fifth. Orosi's Aidee Perez finished 9th in 23:00.12. Reedley High junior Jamie Pi- mentel won the JV girls run in 26:01.94.

ATLANTA BRAVES PITCHER
Dylan Lee, the first Dinuba High product to play in Major League Baseball, is part of the National League champion Atlanta Braves' World Series roster for this year's showdown with the Houston Astros.
The 2012 DHS graduate, a three-sports standout for the Emperors, will be in Dinuba after the World Series for a baseball/softball clinic on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Immanuel High running back Jacob Cabrera rushed six times for
115 yards and three touchdowns in the Eagles’ 47-0 victory over Minarets High on Oct. 22. A week earlier, the senior rushed for 155 yards and two scores against Kerman, and has a team-leading 487 yards rushing for the season.
