Our Pet of the Week is Mandy, a 4 year old very sweet pitbull mix who was found wandering on the 1900 block of Hoag Avenue.
"She's obviously had a litter of puppies not very long ago," said animal control volunteer coordinator Kim Reed.
Other dogs at the shelter, hoping for a forever home are:
• Bear, a shepherd mix
who is probably used to be- ing an indoor dog. He's potty trained and loves mingling with people.
• Sasha, an older terrier/ Pomeranian mix, was dis- covered on New Years Day roaming in the North and Greenwood avenues area.
• Mama, a young pitbull who obviously just had a litter, was apparently aban- doned by the police station.
• Queenie, a 3 year old pitbull who loves water. She's up to date with shots and
spayed.
• Cowboy, a 3 year old
boxer/pitbull/pug mix who loves laps and hugs.
• Sara, a brindle pitty, abandoned with her pups in an orchard. She's potty trained and loves hugs and kisses.
• Rudy, a young terrier, who gets along with all sizes of other dogs, not cats.
• Ladybug, a beautiful pitbull who gets along with everyone and loves to play.
• Jenni, an abandoned, scared 5 months old terrier puppy who is a great hugger and kisser.
Call animal control officer Mario Irazoqui at (559) 618- 9071 or volunteer coordina- tor Kim at (559) 250-5270 or message the Sanger Animal Shelter Facebook page and leave your email address to find about the adoption pro- cess.
Let Kim know if you're able to provide a temporary foster home for any of the shelter dogs or if you would like to be a volunteer at the shelter.
Fostering or adopting is critical right now. The shel- ter is full.
"A big thank you to every- one who has already volun-
teered or who has donated supplies to the shelter," said Kim.
"We're hoping to see a lot of people at the next adoption event on Jan. 19 at Clovis Tractor Supply."
