“We’ve decided that parents have to receive an orientation to the club with new rules and new protocols to sign each of their kids up,” she said.
Officials for the SAM Academy in Sanger also announced a return to in- person instruction.
“We are happy to announce that we anticipate going back to SAM Academy on May 1,” said Jerry Valadez, presi- dent/CEO of the academy.
“Given our vaccination schedule of staff and preparation to receive stu- dents.”
Both centers are located in Sanger, and serve Sanger’s youth with a variety of musical programs and gang preven- tion programs.

The chancellor for the Yuba Community College District in Northern Cali- fornia has been appointed as interim chancellor for the State Center Commu- nity College District, re- placing the retiring Paul Parnell.
Douglas B. Houston will assume his new position effective May 1. His ap- pointment was announced on March 2 by Annalisa Perea, board president for the six schools district that
includes Reedley College. Parnell, who served as chancellor for five years, is retiring effective July 6. The SCCCD board is launching a national search to replace Parnell, who was chosen to head up the dis-
trict in 2016.

Ann Jones of Dinuba, was ar- rested in the area on misde- meanor drug possession and stolen property charges.
• A non-injury hit and run traffic collision was reported at 3:55 p.m. in the 100 block of North Alta Avenue. A ve- hicle left the area eastbound on East El Monte Way.
• A suspicious person was re- ported with a flashlight in the back of a building in the 100 block of Westgate Way at 7:23 p.m.

• A possible DUI involving three females in a gray Honda Accord was reported at 3:13 a.m. in the 2100 block of East El Monte Way.
• A report of domestic vio-
lence was called in to the po- lice at 11:18 a.m. The reported domestic violence occurred in the 1200 block of East El Mon- te Way.
• Theft was reported at 2:55 p.m. in the 500 block of North K Street. A female was re- ported entering through a side gate taking items.
• A rifle was found on the ground near a light pole in the area of Academy and First av- enues at 10:34 p.m.
