State Center Community Col- lege District trustees have ap- proved Cheryl Sullivan as the vice chancellor, finance and administra- tion for the district.
Sullivan — most recently the vice president of administrative serves at Fresno City College — began her new role on Aug. 1. She replaces Edwin Eng, who retired July 31 after serving the SCCCD for 23 years.
During her time as vice presi- dent at FCC, Sullivan was asked to serve as the college’s interim president while the district con- ducted a search to fill that position permanently. During her 20 years with the district, she has served in a variety of roles including a brief period as interim vice president of administrative services for Reed- ley College.

Sullivan said she is excited and humbled to take on her new role.
“[The] SCCCD plays a key role in supporting and developing the next generation of the Central Val- ley’s skilled workforce and com-
munity leaders,” she said. “I am extremely proud to be a part of a collaborative team who cares about the future of all of our students and works to provide them a pathway to success.”
Sullivan earned an associate of arts degree in liberal arts from Fresno City College, a bachelor of science degree in business admin- istration, accountancy and her mas- ter of science degree in accountan- cy from California State University, Fresno.

is two weeks behind due to the discovery of a gas line beneath the building that needed to be rerouted.
A project at Great Western Elemen- tary School has been put on hold. It in- cludes upgrades to the multipurpose building. Quinto said the project proved bigger than anticipated because new fire sprinklers are needed, which adds about $1 million to the project. Quinto said the school district is in the process of secur- ing additional funds.
Other projects include lighting im- provements at Dunlap Leadership Acad- emy and replacement of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system; a new shade structure at Great Western Elementary School; a new playground and two new shade structures at Sheri- dan Elementary School; and a basketball backstop at TL Reed K-8 School.
At the July 24 governing board meet- ing, Quinto also announced that the school district is working with the Educational Employees Credit Union to relocate the EECU’s automatic teller machine (ATM) on the Reedley High School campus. It is currently located in the parking lot north of the junior varsity baseball field, along Manning Avenue.
Quinto said the ATM will be moved to the north side of the Reedley High tennis courts.
“This will make student drop-offs safer for buses,” Quinto said.
