MVT Staff Report
The Reedley Peace Officer's Association provided a happy ending for a 74-year-old Reedley veteran whose electric scooter was stolen and damaged beyond repair last week.
At an April 27 ceremony in front of the Reedley Police De- partment, association members presented a new electric scooter, worth approximately $1,300, to Gordon Frederick Wilson. The Ar- my veteran was visibly touched by the gesture from the POA, whose members raised money from their own ranks to purchase the vehicle.
Wilson's previous scooter had taken while it was parked in front of a physical therapy business in downtown Reedley on April 23. The scooter was recovered the next day after it was abandoned near a local business, but the ve- hicle had been severely damaged as a gear shift was broken.
