Hartenfels new Reedley College head football coach
 From Reedley College
A brand-new era of Tiger football is set to begin this summer with the hiring of Rob Hartenfels as Reedley College's new head coach.
This is a return to campus for Hartenfels, who was the Ti- gers' associate head coach and running backs/tight ends coach in 2018 under previous head coach Eric Marty, who left to become the new offensive co- ordinator/quarterbacks coach at Grambling State University. Marty spent five years at RC (2016-2021), posting a 27-17 re-
cord in four seasons.
“I’m extremely excited,
humbled and blessed for the opportunity to come back to Reedley to a great community college, a great town that sup- ports football and has the men- tality of a blue-collar worker,” said Hartenfels. “There’s no other better opportunity than being at Reedley. I’m excited to get going.”
Hartenfels returns to Reedley from San Diego Mesa College, where he was the defensive coordinator and associate head coach from 2019–2021 In 2019, the
Olympians posted a 7-3 record and were awarded abidtoa bowl game in the Southern Section.
In his first stint at Reedley College, Hartenfels helped guide the Tigers to a 10-1 re- cord, American Golden Coast Conference Division Cham- pionship and a berth in the
American Division Champion- ship Bowl Game.
Hartenfels also has coach- ing experience at Division II Quincy University (special teams coordinator/defensive backs coach), East Los Ange- les College (defensive coordi- nator/DB coach), Occidental College (DB Coach/recruit- ing coordinator/special teams coordinator) and Oaks Chris- tian High School (cornerbacks Coach/special teams Coordi- nator), where he won a CIF Southern Section title in 2010. Hartenfels has also been an assistant coach and operations
staff member for the Army All-American Game for the past 10 years.
A Northeastern Pennsyl- vania native, Hartenfels was a defensive back at Division II East Stroudsburg Univer- sity, serving as a team cap- tain before leaving early to pursue his coaching career in Southern California. He later graduated from Ash- ford University with a Bach- elor of Arts degree in Sports Management and also owns a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from Concordia Uni- versity of Chicago.
