The City of Sanger and Sanger Unified are accepting applications for the Sanger Youth Council until this Fri- day, Sept. 21.
The Youth Council’s pur- pose is to discuss and advise the city council on needs and concerns of youth.
Youth Council members must be 14-19 years of age and live in Sanger or attend a Sanger school. Applications may be submitted to the rec- reation office at city hall or to Ron Scott, SHS activities director.
Meetings will be held at 7:45 a.m. on the last Wednes- day of each month at city
hall.
We are looking for a
diverse group of creative, hardworking and enthusi- astic students to participate in numerous community service projects and to ad- vise the city council. The Youth council will educate the public about issues af- fecting Sanger's youth by working with the mayor, city council, city departments, Sanger Unified, and other community organizations to create civic engagement and opportunities for local youth.
Stop by the recreation office at city hall during busi- ness hours for an application.

Tony Chavez
A memorial service for Mr. Tony Chavez of Sanger will be held at noon on Sept. 22 at the Calvary Fellowship Church in Sanger.
Mr. Chavez, 33, died Sept. 8, 2018. He was a laborer.
He is survived by brother Manuel Chavez of Sanger; sisters Monica Chavez and Sarah and Lorena Brenes of Sanger and Angela Brenes of Fresno; mother Guadalupe Brenes of Sanger; nephews Anthony Garcia and Da- vid Jeremiah Benitez of Sanger and Sean G. Williams of Fresno; and a large, loving Tovar family.
Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home made the arrangements.
Lois Fields
Graveside services for Mrs. Lois Ann Fields of Sanger will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 24 at Sanger Cemetery.
Mrs. Fields, 87, died Sept. 14, 2018. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by son John C. Fields; daughters Debra J. Seder of Fresno and Pa- mela S. Frech of Sanger; brother Clifford W. Deaver; seven grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Fields was preceded in death by her
husband Laverne Fields; son Lance A. An- derson; brother Richard Deaver; and sister Jeanette Jones.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 23 at the funeral home.

Jose Navarro
The holy rosary will be recited for Mr. Jose Luis Navarro of Sanger at 7 p.m. on Sept. 20 at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger and a funeral mass for Mr. Navarro will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Sept. 21 at the church.
Mr. Navarro, 33, died Sept. 9, 2018. He was a sales representative for Fleet Pride.
He is survived by sisters Denisia Navarro- Mena and Veronica Rubi, both of Sanger; and parents Joe and Alicia Navarro of Sanger.
Mr. Navarro was preceded in death by his brother Jose Luis Navarro Jr.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Sept. 20 at St. Mary's New Catholic Church in Sanger.
