feries, junior Hallie Brett, Hatch and Coats all stepped up their play in sets three and four to get the Eagles back in the match. But big plays down the stretch from Chowchilla's Vlot and Hanna Mancebo proved the differ- ence.
"They never ever quit until the final point was won," Linman said of her squad. "I'm extremely proud of these girls, and proud to be their coach."
Against Chowchilla, Coats finished with seven kills and a block while Hatch and Brett collected three kills each. Hatch had a per- fect kill percentage, con- necting on all three of her attempts.
The Eagles were active on the defensive end, with junior Claire Ramirez lead- ing the team with 17 digs. Coats and junior Olivia Bar- soom added 13 and 12 digs, respectively. Hatch and Bar- soom dished out 20 and 15 as- sists, respectively.

The season came to a
stunning and early end on Oct. 30 for North Yosem- ite League champion Reed- ley High School. The No. 2 seeded Pirates stormed back from losses in the first two sets to No. 7 Madera South to force a decisive fifth set, but fell 15-11 to end a 32-5-1 season.
"It was a very pain- ful loss for the team," said coach Ken Tatami, whose squad rolled through league play with a perfect 10-0 re- cord. "We battled to the end, but unfortunately, we did not have enough time to get it done."

The Lady Tigers, coached by Scott Stark and John Perkins, will be one of eight teams competing in the state tournament. Reed- ley has played in the Nor Cal tournament four out of the last five years and has won the conference title three out of the last four years.

Fresno Pacific enclosed out its regular season on Nov. 3 with a 5-0 home shutout of Hawai'i Hilo at Ramirez Field. nior standouts Nikole Ro- driguez, Julie Scott, Reese Kubo, Maddy Gates, Alexa Gonzalez, Leila Wright and Liz Valdez. The team had won 54 consecutive sets in league play before dropping the first set to second place Hoover.
The upset victory spurred a postseason run to the section finals for Madera South, which followed the Reedley match with a 3-0 sweep on the road against No. 6 seed San Joaquin Me- morial. The Stallions then came within one set of a section title of its own, tak- ing top seed Yosemite High to five sets. Surprisingly, Madera South had dropped a set in its opening round play- off win over No. 10 Highland before knocking off the Pi- rates.

ceivers were teammates at Sacramento High School although the QB missed his senior season with an injury.
“It feels amazing to know that we are very close to accomplishing our ultimate goal,” Marty said af- ter the win over Monterey. “At the end of the day, we guarantee ourselves a share of the conference title and guarantee that we will play in a bowl game. There’s a lot of nerves going into a game like this be- cause we understand how good a program Monterey is and how good they’ve been. We worked really, re- ally hard to get ourselves to a point where we are a championship caliber ball club and our kids stepped up in a big way.
“Everyone is working together as a team,” said freshman running back Jamon Chambers, “doing everything thing we do on and off the field. Every- thing is good.”
Reedley is a Northern California American Divi- sion team and is not eligible for a state champion- ship. The last postseason game that Reedley played was a Northern California playoff game at College of San Mateo in 2009. Eleven of the state’s 15 post- season games are games are scheduled for Nov. 17, according to the California Community College Ath- letic Association website. There are Northern Divi- sion championship games scheduled in both North- ern and Southern California on Saturday, Nov. 17. There is also the State Center Bowl, which has been played in Reedley in the past.
