Coach Gates said that his offensive line will be one of the keys to a successful sea- son for the Titans.
“Our offensive line is young but strong. All them have worked tremendously hard in the weight room and they all now squat over 315 pounds,” Gates said. “It's a start. Carlos Jimenez switched from quarterback to center for us and is a men- tal leader on the line.”
The Titans will also look for contributions from new- comers Alexis Sauceda, who will play receiver and safety and Andy Tristan.
Gates said he is excited for his second season as head coach of the Titans.
Gates said the biggest growth he has seen since 2017 is the commitment the team has.
“Guys are buying in and understanding that games are won in the weight room. We are trying to teach them
that this is varsity foot- ball and you must make a commitment to your team mates,” Gates said. “Foot- ball isn't a sport where you just show up August 1st and start playing. The majority of the team is on board and that is exciting. We had 47 guys show up five nights a week for four weeks this summer. That was exciting.”
The Titans open the season on Friday, Aug. 17, against Granite Hills in Or- ange Cove.
“What we lack in num- bers we will make up for in work ethic. We will out work our opponents and show that hard work pays off,” Gates said. “Take the 10 minute drive out Manning Avenue and watch exciting offense, hard hitting defense in a beautiful stadium.”

Leon was a West Sequoia League All-League selection in 2017.
He will have a more ad- vanced role for the Titans this season.
“This year his role has also included playing slot re- ceiver and running back for us on offense,” Gates said. “He is a great athlete and fun to watch.”
Coach Gates also said that he sees potential in Reyes and Reynosa.
“Nate will be a threat at receiver and outside line- backer. He is also one of our better athletes on the team,” Gates said. “Mario will be an impact at both safety and running back. He is a threat
