MVT Staff Report
The Sanger Police Depart- ment is investigating an attempt- ed kidnapping that reportedly oc- curred on the evening of Sunday, Dec. 8.
According to police, at ap- proximately 8:20 p.m., a young female adult, reportedly her 20’s, arrived at Anytime Fitness in the 1100 block of Academy Avenue with the intention of an evening work out.
She reportedly told officers that upon parking her vehicle she was sitting in her vehicle, prepar- ing to enter the gym, when an un-
known male opened her driver’s door, grabbed her and attempted to pull her out of the vehicle.
The female immediately fought back and was able to free herself from the assailant’s grip, then fled the area in her vehicle.
The victim told officers that the man was unknown to her but described him as a white male in his 30’s or 40’s with a medium build. He was also described as approximately 5’6” and weigh- ing around 150 pounds. The vic- tim told officers that the assail- ant may have fled the scene in a black newer modal sedan, but could not provide further vehicle
information.
At this time, officers do not
know if the case is related to an- other similar incident reported earlier the same day in the city of Visalia, but noted that investi- gators from both agencies were working together to determine if the two incidents were related.
Investigators from the Sanger Police Department have been working with leads and have been collecting surveillance video in hopes of identifying the subject. Anyone with informa- tion about the event is asked to contact the Sanger Police Depart- ment at 875-8521.
