St. Mary's was ready for Palm Sunday

Intermittently since 1920 and consistently since the '50s the palm fronds for Palm Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church have been carefully prepared on the Friday before. This year the group in charge of the project was composed of, front row, L-R, Maria Esqueda, Veronica Lara, Vickie Gomez, Guadalupe Alcantar, Hope Alvarado,Victoria Garza, Margaret Puentes, Ruth Alcantar, Ima Perez and Jaima Garza. Back row, L-R, Delores Gonzalez, Fr. John Bruno, Cruz Gervacio, Teresa Ramirez, Connie Lopez, Aurora Alvarez, Millie Munoz, Carmen Alonzo, Maria Santana and Rosalinda Padilla. Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter, when the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is celebrated by processions in which palm fronds are carried.
