Staff Report
Fresno County Sheriff’s deputies are seeking help from the public to identify two men involved in a March 31 hot prowl burglary north of Parlier.
The break-in occurred shortly before 7 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Mendoci- no Avenue, about a half-mile north of South Avenue. Tony Botti said in a news release that a woman was in a bed- room and her husband had just left for work. A short time later, she heard a noise in the kitchen and thought he had come back to grab something. She called out to her husband but no one answered.
Unsure if a stranger was maybe in her house, the woman used her phone to text her husband, Botti said. He responded that he had not returned. She waited a bit be- fore going out to the kitchen and found her screen door had been cut open.
Deputies responding to the scene reviewed surveillance camera footage from around the home, and one camera cap- tured two men walking onto the property. The men were seen leaving the scene carrying a leaf blower belonging to the homeowner. Botti said depu- ties later followed the path the two men took into an orchard. At that time, they found the leaf blower on the ground.
Botti said deputies are in- vestigating the possibility the break-in could be connected to an April 2 hot prowl burglary in the 10800 block of South Bethel Avenue, just north of Floral Avenue between Reed- ley and Selma.
In that 11 a.m. incident, a man was sleeping in his bed- room and heard a loud banging

Staff Report
Police on March 28 arrest- ed a 22-year-old Reedley man who reached for a gun during a brief scuffle with officers after a traffic stop.
Abraham Mendoza was booked into the Fresno County Jail on six counts including felon in possession of a controlled sub-
stance with a firearm.
The incident occurred
around 6:15 p.m. March 28 when officers pulled Mendoza over in the 1100 block of East Evening Glow Avenue.
According to Sgt. Det. John Cates, Mendoza told an officer he was on probation and he was asked to step out of his vehicle. While being patted down by
officers, Mendoza suddenly reached down to his waistband area, Cates said.
Two officers held Mendo- za and managed to handcuff him before he could grab a black handgun that was inside a brown holster within his waistband. Cates said police also found a small amount of cocaine in Mendoza’s left pocket.
