RC Softball
The Reedley College Tigers softball team split a doubleheader with Mer- ced College on March 20 at Reedley College. They then split a doubleheader against Fresno City College on March 25.
On March 20 against Merced College, the Tigers won the first game 7-6 but lost the second game 4-0.
In the first game, Emily Grimbleby earned the win on the mound, pitching eight innings, allowing just three runs, and striking out seven batters.

They then will play Cen- tral Valley Christian High on Friday, April 6, at the Imman- uel High Sports Complex.
IHS Softball
The Immanuel High Ea- gles softball team continued to roll to start the season.
The Eagles competed in the Fowler Easter Classic on March 24, 26 and 27.
As of March 26, the Ea- gles were 9-3 overall.
Immanuel opened the tournament with a 7-3 win over Caruthers High School on March 24.
Brianna Duncan earned the win on the mound. Dun- can also went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs.
Immanuel then defeated Firebaugh High School 9-2 in the second game of the tour- nament on March 24.
Fresno City College, the Ti- gers lost the first game 10-9. They defeated the Rams 16- 0 in the second game.
In the first game, Julia Jimenez had a home run and two RBIs. Sandra Valle- jo and Madison Shubin each had two RBIs.
In the second game, the Tigers won 16-0. Liliana Fe- lix had three RBIs, while Vallejo, Mickayla Villarre- al, Aunika Castellanos and Jimenez each had two RBIs.
They played a double- header against West Hills- Coalinga on March 27. No scores were available at presstime.
Reedley College will play College of the Sequoia on Thursday, April 5, at Reedley College.
They then will play Taft College on Tuesday, April 10, at Reedley College.
Duncan again was the winning pitcher.
She also hit a home run and had two RBIs. Roberta Garcia went 3-for-4, while Mia Barbosa had a home run and five RBIs.
The Eagles continued play in the Fowler Easter Classic on March 26 and lost to Fowler High 4-1.
Immanuel played Wash- ington Union High on March 27 in the third place game. No score was available at presstime.
Imanuel will open Cen- tral Sequoia League play on Tuesday, April 10, at Kings- burg High School.
All-Star Game
Immanuel High boys basketball player Nate Ken- dricks and girls basketball players Krystale Gutierrez and Ava Galpin will partici- pate in the South Valley vs Central Valley All NorCal Games on Sunday, April 1, at Los Positas College in Livermore.

RHS boys soccer receives donation

The Reedley High School Pirates boys soccer team received a donation from 7-Eleven in Reedley to help pay for their CIF Central Section Division III Championship Rings. The Pirates posed for a picture in front of the 7-Eleven in Reedley on March 23.

RHS. While success on the soccer field is important, to him being a teacher and a having good character is what matters most.
He wants to make sure the Velarde's are known for more than just soccer.
“Just knowing that we are able to make a posi- tive impact is huge,” Eric said. “I always want us to be known that we are good people that are trying to give back to the commu- nity.”
The Pirates season end- ed on March 6 with a loss
to Sotomayor High in the state playoffs.
Eric said he told the team to cherish every mo- ment you are on the field representing Reedley.
“I tell the team that this program was around before you and now you have left your mark on the program,” he said. “The next time we win this – and there will be a next time – to remember all the play- ers who came before you and the community that you represent. Because at the end of the day, we do this for Reedley.”

The Pirates opened the tournament with a 12-0 victory over Mendota High on March 24. They then lost to Kerman High 8-3 on March 26.

The Immanuel High, Reedley High and Orange Cove High track and field teams will face off in the Third Annual Kings River Games.
The event will be held on Friday, April 6, at the Imman- uel High Sports Complex.

Emily Grimbleby, Reedley College Tigers softball pitcher, helped the Tigers to a 7-0 win over West Hills-Coalinga on March
16, and a 7-6 win over Merced College on March 20. On March 16, Grimbleby pitched a complete game, allowing no runs and striking out 15 batters. On March 20, she pitched eight innings and had seven strikeouts. Grimbleby is 11-5 overall this season for Reedley College.
