Mildred F. Styre
Mrs. Styre, a longetime resident of Sanger, went home to her Lord on May 8, 2018 at the age of 100. She was born to Ray and Carrie Buchanan Wheeler on April 21, 1918 in Cogar, Oklahoma.
In 1937 Mildred and her family
moved from Oklahoma to Califor-
nia and setteled in Parlier. She met
George Styre of Centerville and they
married July 12, 1937. They purchased
a ranch in the Sanger area and farmed until moving into the city of Sanger in 1955. They were married forty six years before his death in 1983.
Mildred devoted her life to her family and was a pas- sionate homemaker, enjoying baking, sewing and gar- dening. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Sanger, where she served.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Styre; daughter Rita Miller; son Larry Styre and his wife Patricia; granddaughter Stephanie Styre; brothers Har- old, Leo and Clarence Wheeler; sisters Dorothy Pember- ton, Billie Gullian, Gladys Wheeler and Delphie Wheeler.
She is survived by daughter JoAnne Harris and hus- band Kevin of Houston, Texas; son in law Allan Miller of Tulare; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephew.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff of Gold- en Living Center-Fowler for their devoted care during Mildred’s longterm stay.
Graveside services were conducted at Sanger Ceme- tery by Wallin’s Sanger Funeral Home on May 18, 2018. Officiating was Pastor Chuck Antaramian.

Joshua Paul Kisbye
Joshua Paul Kisbye of Sanger graduated from the United States Air Force Academy on May 23.
He graduated among the top 5 percent in his class, 46 out of the 985 graduates.
Kisbye has been se- lected to attend Euro-Nato Joint Jet Pilot Training and
will be based at Shepherd Air force Base for this elite combat pilot training.
He is the son of Erik and Michelle Kisbye and grandson of Annette Sch- letewitz. He attended Jack- son elementary and Sanger Academy Schools, before attending University High School in Fresno

Marilyn Johnson
A graveside service for Mrs. Marilyn Ann Johnson of Sanger will be held at 2 p.m. on June 4 at Sanger Cemetery. It will be followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Sanger Community Church.
Mrs. Johnson, 86, died May 25, 2018. She was a clerical worker at Barr Packing.
She is survived by sons Robert and Richard Johnson of Sanger; daughter Carolyn Vance of Sanger; sister Marrian Gee of Sanger; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchil-

care and other activities. The grant allows members the opportunity to participate for a donation-only cost.
Bank of the Sierra an- nounced that $43,000 was awarded to 19 non-profits in the Central Valley through the bank’s Sierra Grant Pro- gram.
Each quarter the bank awards $1,000-$5,000 grants to 15-20 local non-profit organizations. Grants were distributed to a record number 26 non-profits within
the bank’s footprint this quarter, including Abudant Life Ranch, The Bethlehem Center of Visalia and Valley Caregiver Resource Center of Fresno.
The Bethlehem Center serves 6,000 hot meals to homeless and low-income families monthly. The organi- zation also provides clothing and a resource center to assist those who are less fortunate.
Valley Caregiver Resource Center received a grant to
fund a certified case investi- gator who will ensure elderly members of the community who live in long-term care facilities are well taken care of.
The investigator will advo- cate for over 1000 residents visiting a minimum of eight care facilities monthly.
The center also provides a variety of resources that as- sist elderly community mem- bers along with their families master the challenges of the aging process.

L. Johnson; sister Margaret Miller; and her parents Richard and Ann Ward.
Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on June 3 at the funeral home.
Wallin's Sanger Funeral Home made the arrangements.
