For the first time this season, the Fresno State football team utilized all three former Apache standouts as the Bull- dogs won their second game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 7.
Former Sanger High standouts Jalen Cropper, Arron Mosby and Kosi Agina all received play- ing time in Saturday’s 40-27 victory over host UNLV.
It was, however, an- other modest showing for the former Apaches as senior running back Ronnie Rivers carried most of the payload for the Bulldogs, gaining 136 yards on 19 carries, rushing for three touch- downs and also scoring on a touchdown pass from quarterback Jake Haener.
Cropper, a sopho- more wide receiver for the Bulldogs, finished the game with one carry for 10 yards and two re- ceptions for 14 yards.
Senior linebacker Ar- ron Mosby, a 2016 grad-
uate of Sanger High, finished the game with four tackles, including two solo tackles and two assists.
Agina, playing as a true freshman on de- fense, came into the game late after the Bull- dogs secured a large lead and assisted on one tackle.
Saturday’s game was played at the new Alle- giant Stadium, the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders. It was the first time spectators were al- lowed to watch a game in the new stadium as the Raiders continue to play without an audience due to COVID-19 restrictions. About 2,000 fans watched the game from the stands, including Fresno State fans from the Valley.
The Bulldogs will be on the road again this Saturday, Nov. 14, as they travel to Utah to take on Utah State. Kickoff for Saturday’s game is sched- uled for 4 p.m.
Fresno State is 2-1 on the season under new head coach Kalen De- Boer.

Construction workers grade dirt on Nov. 10 in the area where a new concrete grand- stand will be built at the Reedley High School varsity baseball diamond. The grandstand will replace the old wooden bleachers at the facility. Dugouts and the backstop also will be replaced, and a new grass field will be planted once the construction is done. Other scheduled work includes renovation of the concessions area and a new ticket entrance. The project is expected to be completed in January or February, in time for the Pirates’ baseball season which will begin at the end of March.
Dinuba Youth Football accepting registrations
MVT Staff Report
Dinuba Youth Football is accepting registrations for a modified Sequoia League Youth Football League season to possibly start in January.
The league accepted registrations at Delgado Park on Nov. 1, and players and cheerleaders still have an opportunity to sign up to save a roster spot. In addition to a modified 2020-21
season because of COVID-19, the league tentatively plans a regular 2021 season beginning in August.
Training sessions are scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon at Delgado Park until further no- tice. Prospective players are asked to bring shorts, cleats and your own hydra- tion drink.
For more information on the league and registration, call (559) 909-1404, send an email to dinubayouthfootball@ yahoo.com or go online to the Dinuba Youth Football Facebook page.
