    Genevieve Janzen
    February 10, 1930 ~ January 23, 2022
Genevieve Janzen was born to Herman and Lydia Reimer in their Loveland, Colorado home on February 10, 1930, and passed away on January 23, in the Adventist
Health Care Center in Reedley.
When Genevieve was one year old, she moved with her parents to California where the family settled in the Reedley area, farming near Orosi. She grew up as a farm girl doing all kinds of farm work.
The Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church became her church family where she placed her faith in Christ and was baptized in the Kings River. She remained a member of M.B. churches in Reedley, Selma, Fresno, Visalia, Lodi and Hillsboro, Kansas, the rest of her life.
She graduated from Immanuel Academy in 1948 and Reedley College in 1950. In 1984 she graduated with a B.A. degree from Tabor College, Hillsboro, Kansas.
Genevieve served as a teacher of piano students in her home for 35 years. She was married to Vernon Janzen for 70 1/2 years and served with him in pastoral and educational roles over 50 years.
She always considered her relationships with God and people to be most important. She was characterized by humility and eagerness to serve. She was deeply devoted to her family. She especially enjoyed traveling and camping with them. She travelled abroad in four major tours and all the provinces and states of Canada and the U.S.
Although in recent years she experienced limitations, having to be moved in a wheelchair, her speech not being understood, and memory severely impaired, her faith and love with her Lord and people did not waiver. She will always be remembered for her smile and chuckle.
She was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Lydia Reimer, her brother Bob Reimer, brother-in-law Paul Suderman, sister Darlene and husband Les Kempfer, and sister Elaine and husband Joe Greider.
She is survived by her husband Vernon Janzen; four sons Rod Janzen and wife Deborah, Weyland Janzen and wife Pam, Loyd Janzen, and Dwayne Janzen; five grandchildren, Chris Janzen and wife Robin, Jeff Janzen and wife Emma, Daleene, Max, and Annika; and four great-grandchildren, Arri, Analia, Eli, and Nellie Genevieve.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 with a 10 a.m. Committal Service at the Reedley Cemetery preceded by viewing from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. The Memorial Service at 11 a.m. at the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church.
Remembrances may be made to Palm Village, Tabor College, Fresno Pacific University of the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church.
