WINTER SERIES 2023
The RSYC Winter Series in 2023 took place in October and November in Southampton Water.
Six of the eight races that were scheduled were held. Fifteen boats entered; eight in Class 1; and seven in Class 2.
The Series was gifted with some great sailing weather with close racing, often less than a minute between places showing up in the results during the early part of the Series.
This set up the finale racing weekend in November, which was blessed with some superb sailing conditions, to round off the year of racing in Southampton Water.
Class 1
1st place – Ross Bowdler in his J80, Justify. 2nd place – Mike Garvey in his X362, Magec. 3rd place – Andy Horwood in his Maxi 1100, Asante.
Class 2
1st place – Jacob McKenzie in Glass Onion, an Evolution 22.
2nd place – Oliver Hawkins in Sailfish, a Gibsea 80.
3rd place – Bob Gardner in Now or Never, his Halberg Rassey.
